We are seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Manager to support a $2.5B-$3B capital project in Wilson, NC. This is a lead-level, onsite position responsible for managing the procurement of equipment, construction services, engineering services, and technical service contracts throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting large-scale CAPEX projects, leading sourcing and contracting strategies, and driving supplier performance from award through project completion.

Duration: 12-month contract with a 12-month extension (minimum 2-year assignment)

Key Position Highlights

  • Lead procurement role supporting a major pharmaceutical manufacturing capital project
  • Manage RFx processes, bid evaluations, negotiations, contracts, and purchase orders
  • Oversee procurement of process equipment, engineering, construction, and technical services
  • Coordinate closely with Engineering, Construction, Project Controls, Finance, Quality, Legal, and Operations teams
  • Monitor supplier performance, schedules, delivery commitments, and commercial escalations
  • CAPEX / large-scale capital project experience required
  • Pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences, or other regulated manufacturing experience preferred

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Lead owner-side procurement activities for equipment, construction, subcontract, and professional service packages
  • Develop procurement plans, contracting strategies, procurement schedules, and long-lead equipment tracking
  • Manage vendor prequalification, RFPs, bid evaluations, negotiations, and contract awards
  • Track procurement progress from purchase order issuance through fabrication, shipment, delivery, installation, and closeout
  • Manage supplier performance, schedule risks, change orders, claims, and procurement reporting
  • Ensure vendor documentation supports commissioning, qualification, validation, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field
  • 8+ years of procurement, sourcing, supply chain, contracting, or capital project experience
  • Experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical manufacturing, or other regulated industries
  • Strong background in contract negotiation, vendor management, procurement scheduling, and supplier performance
  • Experience with SAP, Ariba, Oracle, or similar procurement systems preferred
  • CPSM, CPM, or PMP certification preferred

The salary range for this full-time role is $115,700.00-$161,966.69 per year. Ranges are determined based on the position, geography, client and industry experience and level, and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package. Cumming Group reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on a candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications, including client requirements.
