Senior Project Engineer (Valmet Automation Korea)

We are looking for a skilled Project Engineer to ensure successful execution of Valmet’s automation projects by applying strong engineering competence and delivering high‑quality solutions to our customers. In this role, you will collaborate closely with customers, project managers, and engineering teams to ensure smooth definition, implementation, testing, installation, and commissioning of Valmet’s Distributed Control Systems (DCS).

You will become an expert in DCS application engineering, system integration, FAT/SAT activities, and site commissioning, supporting project success from start to finish while ensuring safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• •Participates in the planning of the project with the project manager with respect to the goals of the project, overall scheduling, risk analysis/contingency plan, and installation checklists.
• •Participates in the Definition phase of the project. Understanding the technical scope as defined in the contract, attending customer kick of meeting, collects starting information, collects & produces definition material for customer and Sales support.
• •Implementation and supervision of application engineering, ensuring quality of engineering as per definition, logistic order initialization, communication with other engineering teams, pre-FAT inspections, preparing project purchase proposals, FAT plan, attending customer FAT, getting FAT approval from customer, effective implementation for change management and progress reporting.
• •Installation and commissioning of DCS system at site, attends in cold tests and water test runs, carries out necessary changes in applications (SW&HW), updating of project documentation including system drawings, responsible for site safety, progress reports for end customer & Project managers and system handover to customer.
• •Provides feedback of customer’s comments for customer satisfaction assessment
• •Participates in transfer to service

Requirements

We are looking for “Senior Project Engineer, DCS” to be based in Seongnam, South Korea. This position reports to “Engineering Manager, Projects”. In this position you will have opportunity to work as an individual or in a team who possess technical responsibility for the delivery of Valmet DNA Distributed Control Systems (DCS).

In this position, you will be required followings:

Engineering Graduate (BE) in Instrumentation or Electronics or Electrical from reputed university with relevant experience of 4 – 8 years

Added skills in Safety Systems will be preferred.

Experience of project engineering /execution (logic development).

Should be willing to travel extensively within Korea and overseas.
