Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support our Mechanical Systems, Externals, & Nacelles (MSEN) organization. In this role, you will coordinate engineering, operations, supply chain, finance, and program management activities while managing technical risks, engineering changes, schedules, budgets, and program commitments throughout the product lifecycle. The position provides part-level ownership within a Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) and requires strong cross-functional leadership and technical problem-solving skills.

What You Will Do:

  • Accountable to CIPT for part-level ownership, including communication, risk management, and execution to program requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with the Integrated Product Team on hardware field investigations to determine root cause, support safety risk assessments, and development of mitigation plans.
  • Lead engineering change execution, risk assessments, and mitigation planning to reduce cost, schedule, and technical exposure across the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in Customer, System Integrated Product Team (SIPT), Integrated Program Management Team (IPMT) and Senior Management interaction and presentations.
  • Monitor and support Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) budget, schedule, technical performance, and business metrics to achieve program commitments.

Travel Requirement: Up to 10%, Domestic and International.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced degree and 3 years of relevant experience. Relevant experience in engineering, aerospace, aviation, manufacturing, or a related technical industry.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and/or Aerospace or Turbofan Engine industry experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, influence, and coordinate across teams in strategic projects and initiatives.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to find solutions to complex problems (vendor- and customer-facing) and meet program demands.
  • Experience in Jira, Microsoft Office, Teamcenter, SAP, Microsoft Project, or other project management software.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, CORE, ACE, or Six Sigma, and/or project management tools and systems such as Microsoft Office, Solumina, SAP, Teamcenter, or Agile frameworks; PMP certification preferred.

Department / Segment Overview

Mechanical Systems, Externals, & Nacelles (MSEN) : The MSEN organization is responsible for the design, development, and in-service support of power transmission systems, bearing compartment and rotor support design and analysis, oil and thermal management systems, engine externals packaging and architecture, as well as nacelles for commercial and military engine models. Technical disciplines include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, Product Definition, System Modeling, Mechanical Design analysis for bearings, gears, and seals, and fluid-thermal modeling of associated components and systems.

Onsite : Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Candidates will learn more about the role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
