Senior Solutions Architect, Worldwide Public Sector (WWPS) Australia & New Zealand

As a Senior Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services (AWS), you’ll build technical relationships with customers of all sizes. You'll operate as their trusted advisor, ensuring a great experience with AWS and most importantly, for our customers.

You’ll manage the overall technical relationship between AWS and your customers, helping them by making recommendations on security, cost, performance, reliability, and operational efficiency to accelerate their challenging, mission-critical projects.

Internally, you are the voice of the customer, sharing their needs and wants to inform the roadmap of AWS features and program improvements. In this role, your creative thinking will link technology to solutions. You will help customers deliver on our shared goal to transform the experience of citizens who interact with all levels of Government, Education and Health.

You will participate in the creation and sharing of best practices, technical content, and new reference architectures (e.g. white papers, code samples, blog posts). You'll evangelise and educate customers about AWS technology (e.g. through workshops, user groups, meet-ups, public speaking, online videos, or conferences).

• A day in the life
• Solutions Architects are part of the sales organisation. They meet with partners to understand their business and technical challenges, crafting solutions that leverage AWS products and services. To position the best solutions with partners, a portion of their time is dedicated to learning and experimentation with the latest technologies.

• About the team
• Solutions Architects are technical “thought leaders” who evangelise emerging technologies on a conceptual and practical level. Our SAs play a critical role in the adoption and advancement of cloud computing capabilities within the public sector. They think outside the box to provide solutions that are cost-effective, time-saving, and secure. As an SA, you’ll solve problems at both the mission and technical levels by working backwards from customer requirements.

Basic qualifications

• - 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
• - 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
• - Knowledge of AWS services, market segments, customer base and industry verticals
• - Knowledge of cloud architecture
• - Experience presenting to both technical and non-technical executive audiences

Preferred qualifications

• - Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies
• - Experience leading or developing high quality, enterprise scale software products using a structured system development lifecycle
• - Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
