Job Description Summary

The energy transition is being built one turbine at a time — and the people who make that possible need systems that work as hard as they do. As Senior Subsystem Program Manager and Tools Specialist for the Machine Head team, you will be the operational backbone of a high-performing engineering subsystem, building the tools, rhythms, and program structures that allow engineers and product teams to do their best work.

This role sits at the intersection of program leadership and systems architecture — you will own the planning frameworks, visual management tools, and integrated schedules that keep complex wind turbine development programs on track from conception through product sunset. Your work directly enables GE Vernova's mission to electrify and decarbonize the world.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and own interactive visual management tools and methods for the Machine Head subsystem and component teams, improving operational visibility and enabling faster, better-informed decisions.
  • Integrate subsystem tools with enterprise platforms to enhance productivity, reduce manual overhead, and support world-class program execution.
  • Lead integrated program planning across budget, schedule, resource allocation, and prioritization for large-scale New Product Introduction (NPI) programs, spanning conception through product sunset.
  • Coordinate with Systems Program Managers to align detailed schedules, surface critical path activities, and escalate risks before they become blockers.
  • Drive subsystem operating rhythms — including work portfolio management and resource demand planning — to keep cross-functional teams aligned and accountable.
  • Define and maintain operational and financial metrics that reflect business priorities and provide real-time insight into program health.
  • Manage cross-platform programs , facilitating collaboration across Product Management, Engineering, Sourcing, and Configuration Management.

Who You Are

You are an experienced program leader who brings equal parts technical curiosity and operational discipline. You understand that great products require great systems behind them — and you build those systems with the same care a good engineer brings to design.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
  • Significant experience in program management, engineering operations, or a related technical role within complex industrial or product development environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage integrated program schedules, budgets, and resource plans across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience developing or implementing tools, dashboards, or visual management systems to support program execution.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills — able to break down complex challenges, assess options, and enable clear decision-making.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to translate technical content for both engineering and non-technical audiences.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with enterprise program management or product lifecycle tools (e.g., SAP, Smartsheet, Jira, or equivalent platforms).
  • Experience in wind energy, renewable energy, or industrial-scale product development environments.
  • Knowledge of GE Vernova's internal product development standards and operating models.
  • Established project management credentials (e.g., PMP or equivalent).
