As our Social, Content & Communications Manager, you are the voice of Armstrong. You own our organic social presence, our copywriting, our content, and the day-to-day deployment of our public relations, all woven around a single, consistent brand narrative. This is a shared role that powers both Acquisition and Retention: the words on our pages and in our inboxes, the stories we tell in the community, and the way we show up everywhere customers meet us.

What You’ll Do

Be the Brand Voice: Own a single, consistent brand narrative and make sure everything Armstrong says, in social, copy, content, and communications, sounds unmistakably like us: local, trustworthy, and human.

Own Organic Social: Own our organic presence on LinkedIn, X, and Facebook, manage day-to-day engagement, and explore new platforms where our communities are.

Write the Words That Sell and Reassure: Own copywriting across the funnel, including web-page copy, email, landing pages, and campaign assets for both Acquisition and Retention.

Create Content That Earns Attention: Develop content that supports our marketing goals, including the SEO content that helps acquisition show up in search and AI answer engines.

Deploy PR: Help bring the Director’s PR strategy to life, supporting media relations, announcements, and Armstrong’s public reputation.

Tell the Community Story: Weave Armstrong’s community involvement and local roots into how we show up publicly.

Support Both Pods: Partner with the Acquisition and Retention managers to give every campaign the right words, content, and social amplification.

Keep It On-Brand Everywhere: Maintain Armstrong’s voice and messaging guidelines and bring partners and agencies along.

What You’ll Need

4+ years across social media, content, copywriting, or communications, ideally for a consumer or regional brand

A strong portfolio of writing, from short-form social and email to web and long-form content

Hands-on organic social experience on LinkedIn, X, and Facebook, plus curiosity about new platforms

A storyteller’s instinct for brand narrative and a sharp, on-brand voice

An understanding of SEO and how content supports acquisition and retention

Composure and judgment to help deploy public relations and respond to issues

Comfort embracing emerging technology, including AI, to work more efficiently, for example for drafting, ideation, and social listening, while protecting an authentic human voice

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, or a related field, or equivalent experience

Bonus: telecom or local-market experience, community-based brand building, or media relations

What’s in It for You

Be the voice of a regional brand people genuinely trust

Own social, content, copy, and communications together, with the range to shape the whole brand story

Help an 80-year hometown brand show up boldly in new channels

Join a family-owned company trusted by its communities for nearly 80 years

Competitive compensation and benefits, in a culture that values great storytelling
