Title: Special Assistant
Location: Tallahassee, FL or remote
Reports to: Executive Director
Job Type: Part-time or Full-time
Position Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and organized staffer to join our team as a Special Assistant for at least twenty hours per week. The Special Assistant will play a pivotal role in supporting the Chair and Executive Director in ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Chair and Executive Director by providing comprehensive support on a day-to-day basis to execute meetings and approvals.
Manage the meeting calendar and scheduling for the Chair and Executive Director.
Prepare meeting materials, agendas, and memos for internal and external meetings, ensuring all relevant information is accurately documented and disseminated.
Work with the operations team to plan travel and secure travel arrangements.
Travel with the Chair and Executive Director as needed.
Oversee special projects and support campaign operations as needed.
Elevate tasks and action items to the appropriate staff person or department, ensuring timely follow-up and completion.
Work with the operations team to plan travel and secure reservations.
Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Qualifications:
Dedication to Democratic principles and ideals.
Proven experience in a similar role providing high-level administrative support, preferably in a political or nonprofit organization.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and concise memos, emails, and reports.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize competing deadlines effectively.
Proficiency in Google Suite and other relevant software applications.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team.
Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends, as required.
