Specimen Processing Technician I - FT Evening Shift

ChristianaCare is currently recruiting for a Full-time Specimen Processing Technician to work in the General Laboratory. The work hours are evening shift, Monday through Friday 3:00pm - 11:30pm. This position requires every other weekend and 2-3 holidays per year.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities :

• •Process, sort, and deliver laboratory specimens and request slips
• •Print and properly affix identification labels to all incoming patient specimens
• •Prioritize incoming work, ensuring samples for stat testing are delivered to the appropriate laboratory section in order to maintain stated turnaround times
• •Communicate specimen priority to testing personnel upon delivery

Qualifications:

Associate degree or higher in biology, chemistry or health science required or a High School diploma with at least five years of experience working in specimen processing from similar hospital system.

Hourly Pay Range: $19.48 - $28.24

This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
