Job Description

• Sterile Processing Technicians carry out the task of decontamination, inspection, assembly,
• packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable medical devices. Ensures the
• instrumentation is functional and removes defective devices from service. Maintains sufficient
• inventory and par levels of supplies and instrumentation. An understanding of disinfection and
• sterilization methodologies and processes is required. Provide excellent customer service exhibiting
• interpersonal skills to user departments, vendors, and team members. This position requires
• attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to efficiently prioritize demand. Participation in
• environmental maintenance responsibilities is necessary to meet regulatory requirements. Sterile
• Processing Technicians are responsible for following infection control recommendations and
• standards as described through accreditation agencies. Technicians are expected to engage in other
• task as needed to maintain functionality of the department.

• Education
• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Certification & Licensures
• CRCST Certification required within 18 months or 2080 hours of hire date

• Ability to self-direct and function efficiently under minimal supervision required
