Strategic Operations Specialist, CG-1101-13

Summary

This position is located in the Division of Resolutions and Receiverships, Resolution Strategy Branch of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of resolution and receivership activities of financial institutions and plays a role in proposing and establishing resolution strategies for failing financial institutions. Duties

Assists in the evaluation and implementation of policies and procedures related to financial institution resolutions and receivership activities. Prepares receivership business plans of moderate complexity and reviews portions of plans prepared and submitted by others for completeness and consistency with established financial goals and objectives. Documents findings, develop preliminary recommendations for review, and assist in preparing presentations or briefings for management. Develops written and oral presentations for management, other FDIC officials, federal and state regulatory agencies concerning financial transactions, theories, and analysis of economic impact. Resolves operating problems and/or makes recommendations to management.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG/GS-12 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience performing financial institution analysis contributing to the development of institution resolution strategies in one of the following areas: (1) receivership operations, (2) accounting, (3) franchise marketing, (4) asset management and marketing, (5) examinations, and/or (6) information technology.
