Essential Functions
- Establish standards and work procedures for housekeeping staff in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Plan work schedules and assign staff, hours, and work areas to ensure adequate environmental services coverage throughout the hospital.
- Train, supervise, and evaluate housekeeping personnel to ensure high-quality performance and compliance with established standards.
- Inspect and assess the physical condition of hospital facilities and recommend repairs, renovations, furnishings, equipment relocation, and space utilization improvements.
- Identify, report, and follow up on unsafe conditions to promote a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new housekeeping supplies, equipment, and cleaning methods to improve operational effectiveness.
- Prepare departmental budgets, productivity reports, and other administrative documentation.
- Maintain inventory levels of housekeeping supplies and equipment, and requisition replacement items as needed.
- Ensure departmental compliance with infection prevention, regulatory, safety, and environmental standards.

- Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study preferred

- Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred
- Experience
- Experience working with the cleaning equipment and chemicals used in hospitals and healthcare centers 5-7 years preferred and Experience in a supervisory role 2-3 years preferred
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- - Knowledge of principles and practices of municipal government administration, operations, and management; methods and techniques of research and report presentation.
- - Knowledge of State and federally mandated laws, guidelines, and regulations regarding solid waste management.
