Position Overview

The Production Supervisor, Drive Unit leads a front-line production team executing Electric Drive Unit assembly operations at AMP-2. Joining at facility startup, this supervisor participates in first-build events, embeds standardized work, and builds a skilled team of Saudi national precision assemblers. The role owns shift-level Safety, Quality, Delivery, and People metrics for a section of the DU assembly line.

Key Responsibilities

Own daily production execution for an assigned DU line section covering rotor/stator, gearbox, HV wiring, or EOL test

Monitor cycle time, takt, OEE, FPY, and hourly build rate in real time; escalate deviations immediately

Conduct structured start-of-shift briefings and end-of-shift handovers with written reports

Enforce SWI compliance and Standardized Work discipline at every station

Collaborate across Production, Quality, Maintenance, Automation/Robotics, Manufacturing Engineering, EHS, IT/OT, MES, Supply Chain, Product Engineering and suppliers to achieve operational goals.

HV & Precision Safety (Non-Negotiable)

Enforce HV LOTO, HVIL continuity checks, and mandatory HV PPE at HV connector and EOL test stations

Enforce calibrated torque tooling management, angle-torque verification, and critical fastener traceability

Manage HV emergency isolation response during EOL testing

Ensure zero tolerance for HV or precision assembly protocol compromise

Own shift EHS: safety walks, near-miss reporting, and emergency response for HV incidents

Quality & Traceability

Conduct process confirmation walks at all critical-to-quality hold points in the DU build sequence

Manage non-conforming DU assemblies

Maintain MES traceability for all serial-numbered DU components

Lead shift-level RCCA and QR / QC for quality escapes

Autonomous Maintenance & Continuous Improvement

Deploy Autonomous Maintenance Levels 1–3 with the team; drive centerline management and operator equipment care

Monitor equipment OEE, downtime, and breakdown trends; escalate chronic losses

Lead 5S, standard work improvements, and Kaizen events on shift

Launch & Ramp-Up Support

Contribute to pre-production, first-off-tool, and Safe Launch events on shift

Execute Layered Process Audits and Process Confirmation walks; escalate deviations via QR / QC

Support run-at-rate and capacity verification events; drive corrective actions to closure

Shift Management, Labor & Performance Control

Translate the production plan into labor deployment by certified station, manage attendance and maintain contingency coverage for critical operations.

Lead tier meeting SPEQDC routines, escalation ownership, structured handover, visual management and recovery to plan across rotor, stator, inverter, e-motor and EOL areas.

Own shift containment, stop-call-fix discipline, suspect material control, rework authorization routing and documented release criteria.

Manage employee relations, coaching, performance feedback and succession in alignment with policy and regulations in KSA

Launch Governance, Change Control & Operational Readiness

Support FAT/SAT, commissioning, equipment acceptance, Safe Launch, run-at-rate and capacity verification with objective evidence and disciplined punch-list closure.

Control production, process, software and test changes through documented risk assessment, approvals, validation, revision history and rollback or containment planning.

Participate in readiness reviews, Layered Process Audits, Process Confirmation, close assigned actions, etc.

Saudization & Team Development

Actively develop Saudi national operators and team leaders

Build skills matrices and OJT training plans

Skills

Strong precision assembly mindset with torque-critical, serial-numbered component experience

Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills; experience developing multicultural hourly teams

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with focus on quality and safety

Results-driven with ability to manage quality and safety under shift pressure

Effective communicator in bilingual (English/Arabic) team environments

Technical standards, structured problem solving, risk-based decision making and controlled documentation

Data literacy: KPI definition, trend analysis, evidence-based validation and clear executive/shop-floor communication

Cross-functional influence, supplier coordination and disciplined ownership in a greenfield launch environment

Coaching, competency assessment and knowledge transfer in a multicultural English/Arabic workplace

Strong understanding of factory systems transactions and production flow

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field (technical diploma with strong experience considered)

3-5 years in EV/automotive manufacturing; 2+ years in front-line supervision

Working knowledge of Drive Unit assembly processes (E-motor, gearbox, EOL test, etc)

HV safety competency or commitment to achieve within 60 days of appointment

Fluent in English and Arabic (Arabic required for daily leadership of Saudi national team)

Preferred: greenfield launch experience and Lean/TPS certification

SAP/MES proficiency
