SUPERVISORY GENERAL BUSINESS & INDUSTRIAL SPECIALIST

Summary

You will serve as a WATERFRONT OPERATIONS DIRECTOR in the Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion and Repair of SUPSHIP GULF COAST.

Duties

• •You will communicate directly, either through meetings or oral discussions, with Corporate Officers and Department of War or Department of the Navy personnel at the highest echelons to resolve critical problems of a complex nature.
• •You will ensure that communication flow exists to permit the uninterrupted continuation of shipbuilding programs and for the purpose of resolving potential problem areas/conflicts which might otherwise emerge.
• •You will provide continuity and on-site technical consultations in all disciplines associated with the assigned projects and/or construction, conversion and/or repair of naval ships, and conducts program management reviews.
• •You will plan improvements in organizational structure, manpower, staffing, personnel training, procedures, methods, and facilities, in coordination with the Executive Director.
• •You will liaison with PAE Maritime Program Managers, SUPSHIP Directorate personnel, fleet type commanders, prospective commanding officers and other commands.
• •You will prepare and present weekly and monthly status reports that are concise and complete with current status and proposed recommendations for problem areas to the Supervisor of Shipbuilding, when required.
• •You will supervise the Deputy Waterfront Operations Director, and any assigned Project Office personnel (typically a staff of NH-04 Project Managers, subordinate government employees and support contractors).
• •You will evaluate work performance; approve leave, solve problems related to work supervised; plan, schedule and coordinate work operations; interview candidates; make recommendations for appointments, promotions, and reassignments.
• •You will identify, analyze, and conceptualize business ideas, innovative solutions and alternatives that involve improved business processes, better business practices, more efficient organizations, and improved business-focused decision-making.
• •You will evaluate compliance with policy objectives and standards, monitor overall effectiveness of operations, and provide assistance in the solution of specific management and technical problems.
• •You will hear and resolve employee complaints and refer group grievances and serious complaints to the Legal Office; identify and recommends training needs; handle disciplinary actions, etc.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-03 (GS-13 equivalent), in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector leveraging the comprehensive principles, practices, and technical methodologies of the shipbuilding industry, general engineering, and quality assurance programs to execute and administer complex Federal and Department of War defense prime contracts within a Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion, and Repair (SUPSHIP) organization.
