Summary
This position serves as the first line supervisor and manager of the Front-End Department of a Commissary store. The incumbent is responsible for all aspects of planning, scheduling,coordinating and controlling front end activities and personnel, and controlling all funds received and deposited daily as part of the front-end department operations.Store Associates may perform work in any area of the commissary. Duties
Serves as the first line Supervisor for Store Associates Directs the following work in multiple areas of the commissary. Front end operations including patron identification, customer inquiries, check out and cash control. Non-perishable stock control including transporting item and stocking shelves. Meat display and case stocking. Produce inspection display and rotation. Accounts maintenance, supply, and computer operations. Read the entire job announcement. Qualifications
You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 1101 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date. Your resume must clearly show that you have the qualifications described below. Experience: One (1) year of demonstrated specialized experience) equivalent to at least the GS-6 grade level. Experience can be under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military. Examples of qualifying experience include: Plans, directs, or assigns work for employees. Knowledgeable of multiple departments within a grocery store to evaluate work, provide instruction and conduct on the job training for workers. Carry out daily retail grocery store functions necessary to successfully execute store operations You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Physical requirements: (1) Stand, stoop, kneel, bend and climb for prolonged periods. (2) Lift, push, pull, carry, and handle items weighing up to 40 pounds independently and occasionally over 40 pounds with assistance. You will attest to your ability to perform these physical requirements in the Questionnaire.
