This vacancy is for a GS-2005-6/7, Supply Technician located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, ALC MEDIUM RANGE RECOVERY -MRR PRODUCT LINE in ELIZABETH CITY, North Carolina.

Duties

You will serve as a Supply Technician and will be responsible for performing limited phases of logistic management work that supports the repair and supply functions related to product line. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Determining the validity of recommended buys on routine and non-routine items. Reviewing requirements to rework and purchase parts and commit funds, typically on moderate dollar items. Identifying potential problems that may not be readily apparent. Maintaining an awareness of backorders for critical components and taking action equivalent to their assigned level of authority. Monitoring other Government Agency (OGA) and commercial order status and following up on past due orders. Forecasting material requirements based on current and projected workloads and compiling information necessary for consideration in survey actions relating to loss, damage or destruction of Government- owned property. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you MUST meet all of the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. MINIMUM QUALIFYING SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, an applicant's one full year of specialized experience must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for successful job performance. GS-6: In order to qualify for this position at the GS-6 level, your resume must clearly demonstrate that you have one full year of the minimum qualifying specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to at least the GS-5 level in the federal service. Examples of the minimum qualifying specialized experience equal to the GS-05 level include performing the following types of tasks on a regular and recurring basis: Using an automated supply systems to assist with conducting inventory research and/or processing transactions. AND Providing information to customers on the status of orders to include availability of material, order status and shipment tracking. GS-7: In order to qualify for this position at the GS-7 level, your resume must clearly demonstrate that you have one full year of the minimum qualifying specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to at least the GS-6 level in the federal service. Examples of the minimum qualifying specialized experience equal to the GS-6 level include performing the following types of tasks on a regular and recurring basis: Initiating and/or reviewing supply procurement requests. AND Conducting inventory of stocked materials. AND Assisting with inventory discrepancies.
