Job Description:
Department Overview
Corporate Lending Operations (CLO) supports lending and administrative activities for TD Securities corporate clients. The team partners across the business to deliver accurate processing, strong risk management, operational excellence, and a consistent client and stakeholder experience.
Corporate Lending Operations supports a broad range of functions including Loan Administration, Agency Administration, Loan Sales & Trading, Loan Documentation, CAIRO Administration, and Corporate Lending Operations Administration.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Group Manager, Corporate Lending Operations Administration, the Operations Analyst III is a senior individual contributor responsible for executing and overseeing loan administration, payment processing, reconciliation, account monitoring, exception management, and operational control activities. The role provides subject matter expertise, supports a strong risk and control environment, resolves complex operational issues, and contributes to process improvements and business initiatives across Corporate Lending Operations.
Key Accountabilities
- Execute and review complex loan administration, payment, settlement, and cash management activities supporting corporate lending transactions.
- Process and monitor payment activity across Loan IQ and related platforms, including loan fundings, repayments, fees, internal transfers, foreign exchange transactions, and account settlements.
- Perform funds verification and authorize eligible payment requests in accordance with established procedures, approval authorities, and service standards.
- Investigate and resolve payment issues, transaction breaks, cash differences, failed payments, and other operational exceptions.
- Perform daily reconciliations, account balancing, and control activities to ensure the accuracy and integrity of operational records.
- Review and action exception management reporting, internal account activity, and cash monitoring reports.
- Escalate material risks, aged items, and unresolved issues to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Complete required controls, approvals, certifications, reviews, and supporting documentation within established timelines.
- Act as a key point of contact for operational inquiries, issue resolution, and stakeholder support.
- Partner with Finance, Treasury, Cash Management, Front Office, Technology, Payments, and Operations teams to resolve issues and support business activities.
- Identify control gaps, operational risks, recurring issues, and process inefficiencies, and recommend improvements.
- Support audits, regulatory reviews, risk assessments, control testing, and remediation activities.
- Participate in system enhancements, user acceptance testing, operational readiness activities, and transformation initiatives.
- Provide support, cross-training coverage, and operational assistance to Loan Documentation and other critical Corporate Lending Operations functions as required.
- Provide guidance, training, and subject matter expertise to colleagues while promoting consistency and knowledge sharing across the team.
- Manage competing priorities and deadlines while maintaining service, productivity, and control standards.
- Demonstrate accountability, collaboration, sound judgment, and a strong risk and control mindset.
Qualifications / Skills / Experience
- 3+ years of experience in Corporate Lending Operations, Loan Administration, Treasury Operations, Payments, Cash Management, Commercial Banking Operations, or a related financial services environment.
- Experience processing, reviewing, and investigating complex payments, settlements, account activity, cash movements, and loan administration transactions.
- Strong understanding of corporate lending operations, operational controls, risk management, payment processing, reconciliations, and exception management.
- Demonstrated ability to investigate issues, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate effective resolution across multiple stakeholders.
- Experience operating within a controlled environment that includes approval authorities, segregation of duties, audit requirements, and escalation protocols.
- Working knowledge of Loan IQ or comparable loan servicing and operational platforms.
- Experience supporting audits, control testing, regulatory requirements, remediation efforts, and process improvement initiatives.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, reconciliations, reporting, and investigation of discrepancies.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to provide guidance, training, and cross-functional support across multiple Corporate Lending Operations processes.
Education
- University or college degree, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- Education in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline is considered an asset.
