Temporary NewsNation Digital Content Producer

Purpose

This position is for someone who understands news and storytelling, with a passion for serving our viewers and readers with stories that matter to them.

This full-time temporary position will be for approximately 3 months, and will be based in our Chicago newsroom. Hours will generally be 4:30 am to 12:30 pm, but may change as needed. Flexibility to adjust schedule and assignments as network’s needs evolve.

Position Description

• •Create stories that maintain our high standards of journalism and differentiate our brand from our competitors
• •Create or clip videos that help viewers and readers understand what matters in news stories
• •Craft compelling headlines, push alerts and social posts while delivering stories that make a difference
• •Edit wire and local network-affiliated content for a national audience to ensure standards for journalistic integrity and production quality are met
• •Showcase broadcast segments for publishing across all digital platforms and social media channels
• •Utilize SEO best practices

Qualifications

• •2+ years working in news as a digital reporter or producer.
• •Strong news judgement and ability to determine when local stories have national appeal
• •Experience working with video and social media
• •Excellent communicator, both oral and written
• •Bachelor’s degree in journalism, advertising or marketing or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience

Compensation Rang e: $30.00/hourly
