Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Virtual Case Manager to support personal injury cases throughout their full life cycle, from client intake and insurance claims through medical treatment, discovery, settlement, and resolution. In this role, you will keep case files organized, communicate with clients and third parties, monitor outstanding documentation, and provide attorneys with the information they need to move cases forward. You will make a meaningful daily impact by coordinating medical and insurance matters, supporting litigation activities, and ensuring that deadlines and follow-ups are handled accurately. This opportunity is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who takes ownership of responsibilities and works effectively with limited supervision.
Monthly Compensation Range: from $1,220 USD to $1,320 USD.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Keep attorneys and the legal team informed of important case developments.
Draft correspondence, emails, and other legal documents as requested.
Organize settlement documents and assist with case closing activities.
Assist with calculating and documenting firm expenses as cases approach settlement.
Maintain records of outstanding liens and related correspondence.
Obtain supporting information and documentation from clients and third parties.
Gather and organize documents and information required for discovery responses.
Assist attorneys with preparing and responding to discovery.
Review and organize medical records and identify relevant information for the legal team.
Assist with filing and managing no fault and liability insurance claims.
Follow up with clients, medical providers, insurance carriers, courts, and other parties to keep cases moving forward.
Assist with managing personal injury cases from initial client intake through settlement or resolution.
Track discovery deadlines and follow up on outstanding items.
Prepare Bills of Particulars, Uniform Interrogatories, Demands for Production of Documents, Combined Demands, and other discovery requests and responses.
Track clients’ medical treatment and appointments.
Request medical records, medical bills, lien information, and related documentation from healthcare providers and insurance carriers.
Maintain accurate records of insurance communications and claim activity.
Prepare and submit insurance applications, forms, and supporting documentation.
Communicate professionally and empathetically with clients regarding medical treatment, insurance concerns, and other case related matters.
Support client intake and onboarding, including preparing and sending initial paperwork and case documentation.
Keep attorneys and the legal team informed of important case developments.
Provide general litigation and case preparation support to attorneys.
Identify gaps or inconsistencies in medical documentation for attorney review.
Monitor treatment progress and follow up on outstanding records, bills, and documentation.
Assist clients with scheduling and coordinating medical appointments.
Communicate with insurance carriers regarding claim status, documentation, unpaid medical bills, denied bills, and coverage issues.
Identify missing information, outstanding documentation, and incomplete case tasks, and conduct proactive follow ups.
Maintain complete, accurate, and organized electronic case files.
Perform additional paralegal, legal administrative, and case support responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
Required Skills:
Prior experience as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, Case Manager, or similar professional within a personal injury law firm is required.
Experience supporting personal injury cases from intake through settlement or resolution is required.
Experience working with medical records, medical bills, medical documentation, healthcare providers, and insurance carriers is required.
Familiarity with no-fault claims, liability claims, discovery, and litigation documents is required.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills are required.
Experience with New York personal injury law, litigation, discovery, and insurance procedures is preferred.
Experience supporting matters involving motor vehicle accidents, pedestrian accidents, construction accidents, premises liability, or other negligence claims is preferred.
The candidate must be comfortable working independently in a remote environment and handling confidential legal, medical, and client information professionally.
