Description
Position Summary
The Visual Media Specialist creates engaging, accurate, and organization-aligned visual content across digital and print channels, with primary responsibility for video editing and graphic design. This role transforms concepts, raw footage, and business objectives into polished videos, graphics, presentations, weekly newsletters, and internal materials. The ideal candidate combines strong creative judgment with technical expertise, organized project management, and the ability to deliver high-quality work on deadline.
Responsibilities:
· Video production and editing: Edit raw footage into compelling, audience-appropriate content for websites, presentations, training, recruitment, events, and internal communications.
· Build clear narratives using thoughtful pacing, shot selection, transitions, music, sound effects, voice-over, motion graphics, titles, captions, and color correction.
· Support video and photo capture as needed, including camera setup, lighting, audio recording, framing, and media management.
· Graphic design: Design cohesive digital and print materials such as social media graphics, advertisements, flyers, brochures, infographics, event materials, presentation decks, email graphics, signage, and branded templates.
· Apply brand standards consistently across typography, color, imagery, layout, logos, and visual tone while adapting designs for different audiences and channels.
· Create original layouts and visual concepts that make complex information clear, accessible, and engaging.
· Prepare production-ready files and coordinate with internal stakeholders, printers, vendors, or external partners when required.
· Workflow and collaboration: Translate stakeholder goals and feedback into practical creative solutions while protecting quality, scope, and deadlines.
· Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintain organized file structures, apply naming and version-control practices, and archive source files and final assets.
· Review work for accuracy, visual consistency, brand compliance, accessibility, copyright permissions, and technical quality before release.
· Maintain a current understanding of design, video, platform, and accessibility best practices and recommend improvements to the organization's visual content.
· Internal Communication and HR : Produce and design content for recurring internal communications, including employee newsletters, employee recognition programs (e.g., Employee of the Month), and company announcements.
· Create and manage employee ID badge production as well as staff directory as part of the onboarding process.
· Design and produce onboarding presentations and orientation videos, and support onboarding sessions as needed.
· Develop communications and video content supporting employee retention initiatives, engagement campaigns, and culture-building efforts.
· Partner with other departments to support organizational initiatives and events (e.g., mammogram bus, club health, wellness programs) with promotional and informational materials.
· Create recruitment materials, presentations, and video content to support university and school talent pipeline partnerships.
· Collaborate with HR, leadership, and department stakeholders to translate people-focused initiatives into clear, engaging visual and video content.

Skills
· Strong video editing and production skills, including pacing, storytelling, sound design, and color correction.
· Graphic design proficiency across digital and print formats, with a solid grasp of typography, layout, and visual hierarchy.
· Photography and videography fundamentals, including camera setup, lighting, and audio capture.
· Ability to translate complex or dry information into clear, visually engaging content.
· Strong project management skills, including file organization, version control, and meeting deadlines across multiple concurrent projects.
· Brand management and consistency across channels, audiences, and content types.
· Collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with HR, leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders.
· Comfortable creating polished, professional-quality presentations, videos, and documents under tight timelines.

- Effective support of recruitment pipeline efforts, including materials for university/school partnerships.
- Strong cross-departmental collaboration on organizational initiatives (e.g., wellness events, internal campaigns).
- Well-organized, accessible archive of source files and final assets.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Video Production, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience with video editing, graphic design, or multimedia content creation (through coursework, internships, freelance work, or professional experience).
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop) and design tools such as Canva.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and collaborative project tools (e.g., Smartsheet).
- Portfolio or work samples showcasing video editing, motion graphics, and graphic design work across digital and print formats.
- Strong understanding of branding, visual storytelling, and audience-appropriate content creation.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments, including HR and leadership.
- Experience with basic photography/videography equipment (cameras, lighting, audio) preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism when working on HR-related and internal communications projects.
