Releases of global artists shape culture far beyond borders — but their success in each market depends on how deeply they connect locally. In this role, you will help define how global artists and international repertoire become relevant, visible and successful across Germany, Austria and Switzerland, working closely with European Marketing teams across the region. Leading the GSA International Marketing team and cooperating closely with Marketing leads across the Continental Europe & Africa region, you will bring together strategic direction, local market insight, creativity and data-informed decision-making to turn global priorities into powerful local campaigns. If you combine strong leadership with global thinking, cultural understanding and a clear sense of what makes music resonate in the GSA market, we are looking for you!
What you do
You are responsible for International Marketing across the GSA region, setting the strategic direction for how global artists and international repertoire are marketed in Germany, Austria and Switzerland
You develop the overall marketing strategy for international artists and global releases in GSA, translating international campaign guidelines into tailored, culturally relevant GSA strategies
You lead and develop the GSA International Marketing team, setting clear priorities, roles and responsibilities while fostering close collaboration within the team and across local, regional and international interfaces
You steer local marketing campaigns for global superstars and international newcomers — from positioning and release planning to performance analysis — making international strategies effective in the GSA market
You prioritize artists, releases and marketing investments based on market potential, audience insights, streaming and social data, as well as cultural relevance in the respective markets
You work closely with international repertoire owners, labels and European Marketing teams across the region, representing GSA market needs and opportunities within the international network and ensuring strong local execution of global priorities
Together with Commercial Sales, Data, Digital, Media Relations, Promotion and other partners, you develop integrated campaigns that make international strategies locally relevant, visible and commercially successful in the GSA market
You build strong relationships with artists, managements, platforms and international partners, translating international priorities and campaign pushes into clear, locally relevant marketing and activation plans for the GSA market
You are responsible for budgets, resources and relevant KPIs, creating transparency around campaign progress, impact and learnings.
Who you are
You bring proven leadership and international marketing experience in the music or media industry, with a focus on international repertoire in a local market environment
You have successfully positioned international artists and global releases in local markets and understand how international campaigns become culturally relevant and effective in the GSA market
You understand the specific dynamics of the German, Austrian and Swiss markets and can translate global strategies convincingly into local market logic, audiences and activation measures
You have a broad, genre-spanning understanding of repertoire and a strong instinct for artist, audience, platform and cultural trends
You combine strategic thinking with strong executional drive, are highly confident in the digital landscape and can clearly prioritize and effectively steer different releases and market opportunities
You bring a deep understanding of the digital marketing landscape and the ability to translate emerging trends, platform dynamics and audience behavior into impactful innovative artist campaigns
You are a convincing and appreciative leader who provides direction, empowers others, brings different perspectives together and enables teams to succeed
You are a clear and confident communicator who knows how to adapt tone, message and level of detail to different audiences and stakeholder groups
You bring a strong business mindset and manage budgets, resources and partners with a clear focus on reach, relevance and commercial impact
You work in a data-informed way while maintaining a strong creative instinct for artists, music and cultural dynamics
You are business-fluent in written and spoken German and English and can communicate confidently in both languages
What we offer
A dynamic, international environment at one of the leading companies in music and entertainment
Opportunities to shape and grow artists on a global scale
A collaborative culture with passionate teams across markets
Flexible working models and a modern workplace setup (depending on location)
Competitive compensation and a range of local benefits tailored to your region
Access to a strong global network and development opportunities within Sony Music
