Job Description

This is not an official description, but represents major responsibilities a new hire can expect to perform.You could expect the position of Service Center Cashier to include the following:

CASHIER DUTIES:

• •Regular, reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.
• •Answer phone
• •Cash Checks
• •Process Western Union transactions
• •Sell Money Orders
• •Process merchandise returns and refunds
• •Pick up cash from lane sweeps
• •Know all aspects of checking and help with any issues that may happen at the lane

BOOKKEEPER DUTIES:

• •Settles cash drawers and sets up beginning cash balance
• •Generates sales reports for previous business day
• •Orders money from cash service; i.e., Brinks to maintain cash balance in safe
• •Balance safe and generate reports associated with balancing function
• •Load lottery vending machines; balance cash from machines with sales reports

• Additional responsibilities may include:
• •Reprint orders
• •Do journal transactions (in case of receipt printing malfunction at registers)

TRAINING

Training will be provided at store level.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Bending
• Stooping
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
• Working on feet entire shift (4-8 hours)

Additional Requirements – Internal Candidates:

• •Store/Facility Teammates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred.
• •Store Support Center Teammates: minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred.
• •Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline).
• •If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.

Compensation Pay Range:

$15.35 - $16.50
