SUMMARY: The Refrigeration Operator uses their hands-on knowledge of ammonia refrigeration and experience working with industrial refrigeration components to accomplish preventative and predictive maintenance tasks of the refrigeration department of the assigned facility . Assist with Boiler and steam system maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

• •Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration equipment, such as compressors, ammonia pumps condensing towers, etc.
• •Full understanding of the refrigeration cycle
• •Perform preventative and predictive maintenance and assigned work orders
• •Perform troubleshooting activities, as necessary.
• •Performs quality checks as required by position and/or product at assigned facility
• •Demonstrate an understanding and adherence to all work safety policies, procedures, and governing requirements.
• •Performs other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will not have supervisory responsibility.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• •Required
• •High school or equivalent AND 5+ years of experience in Refrigeration, Maintenance, or similar skill set
• •Refrigerating Engineers and Technicians Association (RETA) membership w/Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator (CIRO) or ability to obtain.
• •Ammonia Refrigeration (2 stage system)
• •Able to pass and maintain state High Pressure Steam Boiler License
• •Process Safety Management (PSM) understanding
• •Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
• •Speak, read & write fluently in English

• •Preferred
• •Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard (HAZWOPER) certification
• •Excellent mechanical aptitude with ability to handle multiple projects at one time
