2nd COOK BUTCHER

As a 2nd Cook Butcher on our premium cruise line, you will play a vital role in supporting the 1st Cook Butcher and the Butcher Shop team in meat preparation. Your culinary skills, enthusiasm, and teamwork will contribute to delivering exceptional meat-focused dishes for our guests.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Butcher Shop Support:

Assist the 1st Cook Butcher in preparing and crafting various meat cuts according to standardized recipes.

Maintain high standards of meat quality, taste, and presentation.

Menu Execution:

Work under the guidance of the 1st Cook Butcher and Chef de Partie Butcher to execute meat-related menus.

Follow portion guidelines and plating techniques to ensure consistency.

Quality Control:

Assist in conducting taste tests to ensure meat dishes meet quality standards.

Collaborate with the team to make necessary adjustments to flavors and seasonings.

Team Collaboration:

Collaborate with other members of the culinary team to ensure efficient Butcher Shop operations.

Support and assist colleagues as needed.

Health and Safety:

Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.

Maintain cleanliness and organization in the Butcher Shop.

Requirements and Skills:

Previous culinary experience or culinary school education with a focus on meat preparation.

Proficiency in English and Arabic (additional languages are a plus).

Ability to lift up to 25 kilograms.

Willingness to work on board for 4 to 10 months at a time.

Enthusiasm and willingness to learn and grow as a Butcher specialist.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Physical fitness and health suitable for demanding duties in the galleys.
