Description
Maintenance Technician II (2nd Shift)
- Location: Lexington, KY
- Pay: $23–$27/hr + Shift Differential (DOE) + OT (1.5x after 40 hrs.)
- Schedule: 8-Hour Shifts- 3p-1130 pm | Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire
What This Job Is Really About

This is a hands-on role working on both mechanical and electrical systems, keeping production equipment running and jumping in when things go down.
What Your Day May Look Like
- Start your shift with a safety meeting
- Review work orders and prioritize repairs
- Inspect equipment and troubleshoot issues on the floor
- Repair motors, wiring, or mechanical components to get machines back up
- Perform preventive maintenance before breakdowns happen
- Test systems using multimeters and diagnostic tools
- Work with other techs on larger or recurring issues
- Log repairs and updates in CMMS before shift end
What You’ll Be Working On
- Packaging lines, conveyors, and processing equipment
- Motors, pumps, compressors, and drive systems
- Electrical systems: wiring, panels, switchgear, transformers
- HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, and air handlers
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Facility systems (lighting, plumbing, walls, floors, etc.)
Tools & Equipment
- Multimeters and electrical testing tools
- Hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Precision measuring tools
- CMMS systems for tracking work orders
- Blueprints, schematics, and repair manuals
What You’ll Be Doing
- Troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical and electrical components
- Install and repair wiring, motors, and control systems
- Perform preventive maintenance (lubrication, inspections, filter changes)
- Inspect drives, belts, motors, and fluid levels using checklists
- Dismantle equipment to access and replace defective parts
- Fabricate or modify parts using tools and specifications
- Test machinery to diagnose malfunctions and verify repairs
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, parts used, and repairs
- Assist with inventory tracking for parts and supplies
- Support equipment installs and system upgrades
- Follow all safety standards (LOTO, OSHA, etc.)
Requirements
What You Bring
- 3–5+ years of maintenance experience (industrial preferred)
- Strong troubleshooting skills (mechanical + electrical)
- Experience working with motors, controls, and production equipment
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Experience using diagnostic tools (multimeters, etc.)
- Familiarity with CMMS systems
Bonus If You Have
- PLC or controls experience
- Welding or machining experience
- Maintenance certifications or an apprenticeship background
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
- Experience calibrating electronic, mechanical, or pressure measurement tools (gauges, oscilloscopes, etc.) in accordance with ISO/IEC-17025 or ISO 9001 standards
- Electrical Worker Certification issued through the State of Kentucky
Work Environment
- Active industrial setting (lifting, climbing, working on your feet)
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work at heights or on ladders/scaffolding
- Flexibility for overtime, weekends, or shift changes
