How you will contribute

Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the 3rd Shift Maintenance Crew Lead position in the Global Coatings Division.

3rd shift will be Sunday - Thursday, 9pm-5:30am, with overtime as needed, based on business needs

We are looking for a highly driven individual that will assist in the daily functions of the Maintenance Department. Additionally, you will…

• •Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as hoist motors, pumps, belts, fans, air conditioners, conveyors, etc.
• •Examines mechanical equipment to diagnose trouble.
• •Disassembles machines and repairs and replaces broken parts.
• •Uses all types of power tools and hand tools
• •Repairs woodwork, minor electrical problems, plumbing and buildings.
• •Adjustment of functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary
• •Keeps work area clean; observes all safety procedures
• •Interprets blueprints, works from sketches or verbal instructions
• •Maintains all types of forklifts and keeps in operating condition
• •Contributes to the design and fabrication of production fixtures and racks
• •Carries out preventative maintenance program for all production equipment, mechanical devices, building and land, including maintaining maintenance records and preventive maintenance checklists.

What it takes

Required Qualifications

• •High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• •Minimum five (5) years of previous experience in a general maintenance that has provided training in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and plumbing skills.
• •The ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, welding layouts, schematics, and complex electro mechanical assembly and/or erection directions.
• •Must have a high awareness for safety at all times
• •The ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment
• •The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner
• •Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

Highly qualified candidates will also possess:

• •Five years of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
• •Five years of previous experience with overhead crane operations
• •Five years of previous experience operating a forklift
• •The ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues
• •The ability to recognize hazardous substances and to know basic employee responsibilities for chemical safety
