Job Description:

  • Who We Are:
  • Southern New Hampshire Health has been a cornerstone of the region since 1893, delivering high-quality, compassionate care close to home. Anchored by Southern New Hampshire Medical Center—a 188-bed, DNV-accredited hospital in downtown Nashua with a Level III-N trauma center, Level II Special Care Nursery, and Magnet® designation for nursing excellence—we offer a full spectrum of services from primary care to advanced diagnostics and specialized treatments. Our medical staff includes over 500 providers from Foundation Medical Partners, and local practices. Foundation Medical Partners, our multi-specialty group, spans 70+ practices across southern New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts, providing coordinated, patient-centered care to thousands each year.
  • About the Job:
  • As the Access Center Coordinator , you will serve under the direction of the Manager of Access and Engagement. In this 100% telephone and system-based role, you will act as the digital and telephonic "face" of Southern New Hampshire Health (SNHH). You will manage incoming phone calls and online care requests from patients and referring providers across multiple practices, specialties, and departments. Your primary goal is to ensure all customers receive timely, efficient, and high-quality service while initiating patient registration and scheduling processes. This position involves no face-to-face interaction and can be performed off-site as approved by a supervisor.

What You’ll Do:

  • Registration & Scheduling: Coordinate and execute new patient registrations and appointment scheduling, accurately inputting all demographic, medical, financial, and referral details into EPIC.
  • Call Management & Triage: Answer incoming lines, triage calls, deliver professional customer service, transcribe detailed messages, and translate patient or provider requests into immediate, appropriate actions.
  • Insurance & Authorization Support: Complete administrative prior authorizations, identify potential payer issues, and collaborate with clinical nurses to resolve authorization barriers or formalize payer appeals.
  • Patient & Practice Liaison: Provide basic practice and hospital instructions, arrange interpreter services, obtain required clinical records prior to visits, and act as a key contact for insurance and care access questions.
  • Compliance & Administration: Maintain strict data confidentiality in alignment with HIPAA guidelines and assist with operational office needs, including training new employees.

Who You Are:

  • Experienced: You have at least two (2) years of experience in a medical office, healthcare administrative support role, or contact center environment. Prior direct customer service experience is required.
  • Educated: You hold a High School diploma or equivalent (required); an Associate degree is preferred.
  • Tech-Savvy: You possess basic computer proficiency—specifically with Microsoft Office—strong data entry capabilities, and a general knowledge of the referral triage process. Prior EPIC experience is highly preferred.
  • An Excellent Communicator: You have strong interpersonal, team-building, and organizational skills, allowing you to effectively problem-solve and multitask under tight deadlines.
  • Adaptable: You thrive in a fast-paced environment, can handle high call volumes, and know how to exercise sound judgment when dealing with sensitive, confidential data.

Why You’ll Love Us:

  • Health, dental, prescription, and vision coverage for full-time & part-time employees
  • Short-term, long-term disability, life & pet insurance
  • Tuition reimbursement & Nursing Student Loan Paydown Program
  • 403(b) Retirement savings plans
  • Continuous earned time accrual & more!
