POSITION OVERVIEW

We're growing — and looking to add more depth and experience to our accounting leadership. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing Dvorak's accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting across the company. You'll lead and develop a small team (a Payroll Specialist and an A/R Specialist), establish strong internal controls, and serve as a strategic partner to leadership — providing the financial insight and analysis that supports smart, long-term business decisions.

Title and level are flexible depending on background and experience.

What We're Looking For

Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and payroll staff; set clear expectations and accountability standards

Oversee general ledger reviews, monthly reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close

Manage AR processes including progress billings, retainage, lien waivers, and job cost accounting

Oversee AP operations, invoice coding, vendor relationships, and weekly check runs

Audit payroll for accuracy and compliance, including certified payroll and prevailing wage requirements

Lead annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting; analyze trends and variances for leadership

Support audits, bonding, and compliance documentation

Certifications & Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in construction or contracting

Strong knowledge of job cost accounting and construction billing practices

Experience leading or mentoring accounting staff

Vista experience strongly preferred; advanced Excel and financial reporting skills

High attention to detail, strong judgement, and excellent communication skills - this role partners closely with operations, project managers, and leadership

Pay Range: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year (based upon experience) + bonus opportunity

Work Location: Dundalk Office / Hybrid
