Accounting Operations Manager

About the Team/Role

The Accounting Operations Manager provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and department-wide direction for the Factoring cash application function. Initiates, manages, and oversees projects both within this department and cross-departmentally for WEX Capital. This role is responsible for driving operational performance, optimizing payment processing workflows, ensuring regulatory and audit controls, and leading high-performing teams to meet or exceed business objectives.

How you'll make an impact

• •Develop and execute strategic plans for the Cash Applications department to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across Factoring operations.
• •Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs), ensuring consistent alignment with department standards.
• •Lead, mentor, and empower team leaders and specialists, fostering professional growth, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset.
• •Serve as the primary escalation point for complex cash allocations, high-value debtor payment disputes, and critical operational risks.
• •Drive continuous process improvement initiatives, automation, and system enhancements to streamline cash posting.
• •Design, implement, and maintain internal control frameworks to support audit requirements and mitigate financial risk.
• •Collaborate cross-functionally with Collections, Processing, Portfolio, Underwriting, and IT teams to ensure end-to-end operational alignment.
• •Manage workforce planning, department budgeting, resource allocation, talent acquisition, and performance evaluation processes.

Experience you'll bring

• •A Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business required.
• •Proven track record of 5+ years managing and leading teams within a high-volume Cash Applications or Financial Operations environment (Factoring experience required).
• •Strong analytical capability with advanced proficiency in Factorsoft.
• •Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior business leadership.
• •Demonstrated ability to drive change management and elevate operational standards while maintaining strong audit compliance.

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan. Pay Range: $116,300.00 - $129,600.00
