Job Posting:
This role combines payroll administration with benefits management, acting as the strategic contributor to paychecks and employee benefits. The analyst oversees the entire employee cycle — from wage calculation to benefits enrollment — while analyzing data, recommending policy improvements, and ensuring system efficiency. The role is responsible for strategic oversight, accuracy, and compliance of country and state/province specific laws and company policies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process employee wages, including complex calculations (commissions, overtime, bonuses, short term disability payments)
Manage tax withholdings, deductions and garnishments and audit payroll process for accuracy and compliance
Maintain accurate payroll records and prepare reports (e.g., year- end tax forms)
Administer and optimize employee welfare programs (health, retirement, welfare) for both the US and Canada
Respond to employee payroll and benefits inquiries to resolution and escalate issues as needed
Partner with US and Canadian vendors to administer benefits and payroll
Ensure compliance with country and state/province specific regulations for payroll and benefits
Process benefit and vendor invoices for payment
Analyze payroll and benefits data to identify trends, cost savings, and policy improvements
Recommend process changes and system enhancements including taking the lead to implement Workday for Canadian payroll
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree preferred; Human Resources, or other related/analytical discipline.
Minimum of 5+ years of Canada payroll experience and 2+ years of benefits experience required.
Analytical mindset, HR/finance knowledge, advanced Excel, HRIS/payroll system proficiency (Workday required)
Compliance knowledge (federal/state payroll laws, benefits regulations)
