The Atrium Health Cabarrus Critical Care Team is actively recruiting an experienced, part-time Critical Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. The APP will be expected to manage medical, surgical, cardiac, and cardiothoracic surgery ICU patients and attend and contribute to group/practice meetings, development of policies and procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
About the position:
· Full-Time position 0.8 FTE= 116 shifts per year
· 100% inpatient, adult medicine
· Service provides 24/7 coverage with shift-based model to a 54 bed ICU consisting of a mixed patient population of medical, surgical, and cardiovascular adult patients.
· Shifts are 13 hours long and include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Shifts are rotated equally among staff.
· Current group consists of 14 physicians and 13 APPs
· Employer paid benefits and CME allowance offered
Position Qualifications:
· Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program. License to practice as a NP or PA in North Carolina. Prescriptive privileges and DEA license required. BLS/ACLS for healthcare provider from AHA required.
· Nurse practitioners are required to have a Master's Degree or Post Master's Certificate in Acute Care
· Physician Assistants with certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred. Current or pending CAQ certification preferred.
· NP/PA or RN experience in ICU required
· Knowledgeable about the following procedures or willing to learn: Central Line Placement, Arterial Line Placement, and Intubation
