Assistant Project Manager (Entry-Level) – Construction / Mechanical

We are seeking an Entry-Level Assistant Project Manager to support construction projects within our Special Projects division. This role is ideal for someone starting a career in construction project management and gaining hands-on experience through project coordination, documentation, and administrative support, along with exposure to job sites and construction operations in a mechanical contracting environment.

Base compensation for this entry-level role is expected to begin around $30/hour, with final determination based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBLITIES:

Assist Project Managers with day-to-day project coordination and administrative tasks

Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, vendors and field staff

Assist with purchase orders, change documentation, and contract paperwork

Support preparation of RFIs, change orders, and project documentation

Maintain accurate project data in project management and ERP systems

Communicate routine project updates to project leadership

Visit construction job sites periodically to support coordination efforts

Observe field operations to learn construction sequencing and safety practices

Follow all company and jobsite safety requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent; Degree in Construction Management or related course of study is preferred

Previous internship, co-op, or entry-level experience in construction, engineering, or project coordination

Prior exposure to mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing/piping), construction documents and project management concepts, is a plus

Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadline

Willingness to learn construction processes and project management fundamentals
