Assistant Vice President - Index Research & Review

Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Data Business department and play a significant role in shaping the index product, a growth business within the group. This newly form team will be responsible for delivering differentiating index products that align with the strategy of the business and the exchange as a whole. We are looking for a high caliber and motivated individual to join our team with responsibility spanning across strategy execution and project implementation.

Job Duties:

To be successful in this role you will leverage your domain expertise and passion for the industry to:

Responsibilities:

• •Conduct regular index reviews and ad hoc index adjustments in accordance with established index methodologies and index governance requirements.
• •Manage and analyse datasets required for index reviews and maintenance, investigate data exceptions and discrepancies, and work with internal teams and external data vendors to resolve index-related issues.
• •Monitor and analyse market developments, corporate actions and issuer disclosures, and assess their impact on index eligibility, classification and treatment.
• •Prepare supporting documentation and presentation materials of index reviews for governance discussions and stakeholder communications.
• •Collaborate with multiple teams and vendors to ensure the accurate and timely announcement and implementation of index changes.
• •Identify and implement enhancements to index review processes, data controls and workflow automation to improve efficiency, scalability and robustness.

Requirements:

• •Relevant university degree or equivalent.
• •7+ years of experience in financial markets, experience from Index/ETF businesses, asset management or quantitative research is preferable.
• •Demonstrate deep understanding of relevant programming languages and tools, third party vendor products.
• •Exposure on Hong Kong, China and APAC financial market, good understanding of investment strategies and portfolio construction.
• •Index Research and/or Maintenance experience.
• •A self-starter with an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset and high agility.
• •Strong analytical, collaboration, interpersonal and presentation skills.
• •Proficiency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
