Requirements

Position Summary

The Assisted Living Care Associate provides compassionate, personalized support to residents while promoting independence, dignity, comfort, and overall well-being. This position assists residents with their daily needs in accordance with individualized service plans while creating meaningful relationships built on trust, respect, and genuine care.

The ideal candidate is attentive, dependable, and passionate about working with older adults while providing an exceptional level of service in a warm and welcoming environment.

Essential Job Duties

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, incontinence care, transferring, and mobility in accordance with individualized service plans.
  • Encourage residents to maintain their independence by providing the appropriate level of assistance and support based on individual needs and abilities.
  • Observe residents and promptly report changes in physical, emotional, behavioral, or social condition to the appropriate nursing team member.
  • Complete required resident documentation accurately and in accordance with community policies and procedures.
  • Respond promptly to resident pendants, call lights, and pull cords while providing attentive, respectful, and courteous service.
  • Conduct routine rounds to support resident safety, comfort, and overall well-being.
  • Assist with dining services as needed, including serving meals, cutting food, providing encouragement and cueing, and assisting residents with eating when appropriate.
  • Support life enrichment programs by encouraging participation, assisting residents to and from activities, and helping with community, family, and social events.
  • Assist with light housekeeping and laundry tasks, including bed making, resident laundry, linens, and maintaining clean and comfortable resident apartments and common areas.
  • Follow established infection prevention and control practices, including proper hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment, cleaning and disinfection, respiratory hygiene, and appropriate waste disposal.
  • Monitor resident surroundings and promptly address or report potential health or safety concerns.
  • Assist in welcoming and supporting new residents as they transition into the community.
  • Participate in resident service plan meetings as requested.
  • Provide appropriate emergency assistance within the scope of the position and according to community procedures.
  • Anticipate resident needs whenever possible and contribute to a positive, hospitality-focused resident experience.
  • Work collaboratively with nursing, care, dining, life enrichment, and other community team members to ensure resident needs are addressed thoroughly and in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support residents and the overall operation of the community.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in assisted living, senior living, caregiving, healthcare, hospitality, or a related environment preferred.
  • Compassionate and respectful approach to working with older adults.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow individualized resident service plans and established community procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Dependable, professional, and attentive to resident needs.
  • Must maintain a flexible schedule based on community needs, including availability to work weekends and holidays as required.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds and assist residents with mobility and transfers as required.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to frequently bend, reach, stoop, twist, push, and pull while assisting residents and completing assigned duties.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
  • Must be able to safely perform the physical responsibilities associated with providing direct resident care.
