Associate Corporate Counsel, Amazon Ads Legal

As an Amazon Ads Legal Associate Corporate Counsel, you will advise on a range of legal matters, conduct product counseling, draft and negotiate contracts, and provide practical guidance that helps teams move quickly and confidently. You will work across functions to deliver clear, actionable legal advice on issues that matter — from commercial agreements to regulatory compliance. In this role, you will be the principal legal support for IMDb, including IMDb's contracts, ad services, customer experiences, licensing, compliance, and much more. You will work directly with senior business leaders, providing guidance across an array of issues. In addition to supporting IMDb, this role also includes providing guidance and thought leadership on emerging AI initiatives that cut across Amazon businesses.

• Key job responsibilities
• - Assess Amazon Ads product and service proposals against regulatory requirements, AI transparency obligations, privacy promises, and other legal considerations.
• - Learn the ins, outs, nuts, and bolts of how your clients' products and services work at a technical level to enable you to provide surgically precise legal advice.
• - Provide clear, practical legal advice to internal stakeholders by researching and interpreting applicable statutes, regulations, and case law to support sound decision-making.
• - Identify and assess legal risks across projects and programs, recommending mitigation strategies and escalating issues when appropriate.
• - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize legal processes, develop best practices, and create templates or playbooks that improve efficiency and consistency.
• - Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts and agreements, ensuring terms appropriately protect the organization while enabling business objectives.
• - Prepare and organize legal documentation to comply with professional standards and guidelines, and support program management efforts by tracking progress and communicating priorities to stakeholders.

• A day in the life
• You might start your morning reviewing a contract proposal, working through key terms and preparing a summary of your recommendations. After a quick call with business stakeholders, you shift to researching a regulatory question that surfaced the previous day. In the afternoon, you join a cross-functional working session to help refine a new process for handling a recurring legal issue. Then, you switch back to writing a document describing how Amazon will manage legal risks, customer trust considerations, and commercial strategic data leakage issues associated with a new product proposal. Throughout, you balance competing priorities, provide timely counsel, and ensure your advice is both thorough and accessible.

Basic qualifications

• - Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
• - 2+ years of post bar admission legal experience
• - Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines

Preferred qualifications

• - 2+ years of Advertising Law experience
• - Can distill complex legal issues into clear, concise business guidance
• - Can use AI for legal research, contract analysis, or document review experience
• - Knowledge of the ethical considerations surrounding AI in the legal context, such as confidentiality, accuracy, and bias prevention
• - Experience in web services/cloud computing, software licensing, telecommunications or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
