Description

About GondolaBio

GondolaBio is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing breakthrough therapeutics for genetic diseases. GondolaBio is an independent sister company to BridgeBio, originally carved out in 2024 after securing $300M in private financing from external investors. GondolaBio aims to leverage cutting-edge biological research to discover, create, test, and deliver transformative medicines to treat patients who suffer from genetic diseases.

Who You Are

The Portfolio Development team has two main objectives: ensure the progress of GondolaBio’s affiliates and evaluate novel therapeutic ideas for GondolaBio to pursue. The team works closely with members of GondolaBio’s Investment Committee, which is composed of veteran drug developers and renowned academic scientists. As a key member of the team, this position will help set the culture and business development direction of the company. In particular, the duties of the Associate/Senior Associate will be to (1) deeply review the scientific progress and direction of GondolaBio affiliates and (2) to research, evaluate, and advocate for both particular investment opportunities as well as broader therapeutic areas for GondolaBio to develop.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Deeply evaluate all aspects of a therapeutic program—from genetic rationale and pre-clinical evidence all the way to the development plan and clinical trial design
  • Ensure highest level of scientific execution by reviewing progress of GondolaBio affiliates at critical phases of development
  • Advocate for therapeutics that fit our goal of targeting the genetic source of a disease by building a scientific and business case for each potential investment
  • Interface with leading academics, patient advocacy groups, biotechs, and entrepreneurs
  • Lead internal discussions with management and the Investment Committee
  • Establish a focused investment strategy and follow through to identify new investment opportunities
  • Coordinate and work with a talented team of internal subject-matter experts—including clinical, commercial, and disease experts—to dive as deeply as needed for each project

No matter your role at GondolaBio, successful team members are:

  • Entrepreneurial Operators, who drive toward practical solutions and have an ownership mindset
  • Truth Seekers, who are detailed, rational, and humble problem solvers
  • Individuals Who Inspire Excellence in themselves and those around them
  • High-quality executors, who execute against goals and milestones with quality, precision, and speed
