Associate Underwriter

As the Associate Underwriter on our Equine Farm team, you will provide risk analysis, examination, and entry level underwriting as well as underwriting support.

Key Accountabilities/Deliverables:

• •With the guidance, instruction and oversight of underwriting management provide brokers competent & timely service, maintain accurate policy files and data management.
• •Assess & rate equine risks, utilizing accurate pricing and established underwriting guidelines.
• •Participate and contribute with special projects.
• •Perform technical underwriting duties to include policy creation, preparing accounts to be modelled and data entry.
• •Assist with data reporting leveraging available tools such as Power Bi Automate and Excel.
• •Offer administrative support to the underwriting team as needed.
• •In addition to the above key responsibilities, you may be required to undertake other duties from time to time as the Company may reasonably require.

Technical Knowledge and Understanding:

• •Computer and administrative skills – general working knowledge of MS Office
• •Strong Organizational skills
• •Customer service-focused mindset
• •High attention to detail and accuracy
• •Ability to work both independently and part of a team.
• •Strong communication skills both verbally and written, adept at conveying information clearly and effectively
• •Ability to manage time and projects effectively
• •Equine Industry knowledge

Experience:

• •College degree preferred
• •Previous experience in Equine/Farm insurance preferred
• •Hands on Equine/Equine Farm experience preferred
• •Strong emphasis on customer service and relationship building
• •Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
• •Reliable team player
• •Ability to effectively manage time, meet deadlines and prioritize projects
