Job Summary:

• Under the supervision of an Audiologist, the Audiology Extern will be responsible for diagnostic testing, AABR, OAE,
• cochlear implant evaluations/programming, BAHA evaluations/programming, hearing aid evaluations/fitting/follow ups,
• ABR (sedated and non-sedated), VNG testing, hearing aid walk-in clinic, and any other testing and/or procedures as
• indicated by the Audiologists.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

• Performs diagnostic testing on pediatrics and/or adults.
• **
• Proficient in hearing aid evaluations, programming, and checks.
• Assists within cochlear implant and BAHA evaluations, activations, and follow ups.
• Performs automated ABR (AABR) and ABR (sedated and non-sedated) testing with the assistance of the
• Audiologist when needed.
• Demonstrates advanced problem solving skills in regards to equipment/order processing and making
• appropriate suggestions for follow up with Audiologists.
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):

All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

Additional License(s) and Certification(s):

Required Minimum Experience:

• Must be actively enrolled in and have
• successfully completed at least 2 years in Graduate Audiology
• Doctoral Program. Required and

Required Minimum Skills:

• Capability to perform diagnostic audiological evaluations.
• Basic knowledge of hearing aids.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• BAHA evaluation/activation/follow ups preferred
• Cochlear implant evaluation/activation/follow ups preferred
• Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) testing preferred
