We design and manufacture AM solutions based on a process called metal powder bed fusion (laser melting). Our products are used by customers around the world in cutting-edge engineering projects spanning sectors including aerospace, automotive and advanced manufacturing.
As a Software Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing assembly and test systems, reusable software libraries, and manufacturing processes for next-generation Additive Manufacturing products. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain domain knowledge in Additive Manufacturing whilst working with state-of-the-art technologies in a research and development environment.
The position is based at New Mills, our global headquarters and does have hybrid working opportunities. From time-to-time, introduction of new software will require certain tasks to be carried out onsite, so flexibility may be required during key phases of these releases.

Develop and maintain reusable software libraries, frameworks and shared components that support multiple engineering projects and production systems
Support the development and introduction of new manufacturing and test processes for new products
Integrate software with hardware including sensors, motion systems, instruments and production equipment
Contribute to the definition of software architecture, coding standards and best practices to promote consistency and maintainability
Analyse test data and process metrics to support product and process development activities
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver robust, scalable engineering solutions
Support validation and troubleshooting activities on production and development systems
Key Requirements
Degree qualified (2:1 or above) in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical discipline
Experience developing software using C# and .NET
Understanding of software engineering principles including design, testing and debugging
Ability to solve technical problems using a structured and analytical approach
Strong communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams
Practical hands-on engineering aptitude, comfortable using basic tools and working with both software and hardware, including assembly, installation, troubleshooting and fault finding
Desirable Requirements
Experience developing reusable software libraries, SDKs or shared frameworks
Experience developing WPF applications
Experience interfacing software with hardware, instrumentation or automated systems
Familiarity with manufacturing, assembly or test environments
Understanding of data analysis and statistical techniques
Experience using Visual Studio, Git and Azure DevOps
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
