As part of its launch, SUMMIT Paris is looking for an A/V and Media Engineer to join its team.

Job Description

An AV and Media systems engineer who operates, maintains, and provides technical support for audiovisual and media systems at Summit Paris. The individual will oversee a broad variety of cutting-edge exhibits featuring real time generative media systems and show controlled audio and lighting. They will serve as one of 4 full-time technology staff and work closely with the observatory's marketing and sales operations departments to facilitate all event and special programs activity.

Key Responsibilities

Oversees an array of audiovisual systems, possibly including but not limited to an immersive theater, a large-scale media wall featuring real time user generated artwork, and audio/lighting show-controlled exhibit areas;

Manages a comprehensive maintenance plan to ensure systems are operating optimally and proactively monitored;

Provides initial troubleshooting and break/fix for audiovisual systems, escalating to outside vendors - AV integrators, Software and content producers, and manufacturers - and tracking to resolution;

Provides initial troubleshooting and response for Observatory critical flow systems (ticketing, admissions & visitor management, point of sale,), supported by our Business Applications teamand equipment manufacturers/vendors;

Tracks issues to resolution and together with Observatory staff, IT operations, AV integrators, and manufacturers develop lessons learned and a preventative plan to prevent or minimize re-occurrence;

Assists Observatory marketing and sales operations teams with the planning and execution of events and special programs including:

Needs assessment, communicating systems specifications and site logistics to clients, event firms, and rental companies;

Customizing and preparing areas and systems of the Observatory to meet event needs; overseeing outside vendors and rental companies' operation in the building and facilitate efficient setup, care, and appropriate use of house equipment;

Where needed, operating, or overseeing the operation of the technology systems in the building to ensure the health of the equipment and success of the event.

Requirements

Education and Experience

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and will have worked in a best-in-class retail/hospitality environment for a minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated expertise with audio/visual technology, electronic media, computers, and other technologies described herein. Must have experience leading and motivating service-oriented teams.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge and experience operating networked audiovisual systems including:

laser projectors;

LCD videowalls;

Audio systems (audio DSPs, amplifiers, and speakers);

high-performance video processors;

supervisory control systems.

Experience operating lighting consoles. Knowledge of DMX, Art-Net, and sACN protocols, and their integration into show-controlled exhibits;

Ability to quickly troubleshoot and identify root cause of issues and act to mitigate or resolve them;

Ability to track and document issues - occurrence, path to resolution, and proactive maintenance/follow up - to improve overall uptime and long-term reliability;

Knowledge of AV event workflows and requirements; experience operating or overseeing event audiovisual activities a plus;

Knowledge of AV-over-IP protocols (Dante, NDI, ST 2110): configuration, signal routing via network encoders/decoders and IP switching matrices, troubleshooting;

Knwoledge of content management on digital signage platforms (schedule and update playlists) a plus;

Conversational/working fluency in English and French.

Description du poste

L’Ingénieur(e) Audiovisuel et Médias assure l’exploitation, la maintenance et le support technique des systèmes audiovisuels et multimédias de SUMMIT Paris.

Il/elle supervisera un large éventail d’installations de pointe intégrant des systèmes médias génératifs temps réel, ainsi que des dispositifs sonores et lumineux pilotés par show control. Il/elle fera partie de l’équipe Technologie composée de quatre collaborateurs à temps plein et travaillera en étroite collaboration avec les équipes Marketing et Ventes . Il/elle les accompagnera notamment dans l’organisation des événements exceptionnels et autres programmes spéciaux organisés sur site.

Missions principales

Superviser un ensemble de systèmes audiovisuels pouvant entre autres inclure : un théâtre immersif, un mur média grand format intégrant des œuvres générées en temps réel par les visiteurs, et des espaces d’exposition show-controlled.

Définir et piloter un plan de maintenance complet afin de garantir la performance optimale des équipements et leur surveillance proactive ;

Assurer le premier niveau de diagnostic et de résolution des incidents liés aux systèmes audiovisuels, puis coordonner les interventions des partenaires externes (intégrateurs audiovisuels, éditeurs de logiciels, producteurs de contenus et fabricants) jusqu’à leur résolution complète ;

Assurer le premier niveau de support des systèmes critiques d’entrée/sortie du site (billetterie, gestion des admissions et des visiteurs, systèmes de point de vente, etc.), en collaboration avec l’équipe Business Applications et les fournisseurs concernés ;

Suivre les incidents jusqu’à leur résolution et mettre en place, avec les équipes internes et partenaires externes, des actions correctives et préventives visant à améliorer la disponibilité et la fiabilité des systèmes ;

Accompagner les équipes Marketing et Ventes dans la préparation et la réalisation des événements et programmes spéciaux :

Analyser les besoins, communiquer les spécifications techniques et les contraintes d’exploitation aux clients, agences événementielles et prestataires ;

Adapter les espaces et les équipements aux besoins des événements ;

Superviser les prestataires externes et les sociétés de location intervenant sur site ;

Veiller à ce que les équipements de la société soient mis en œuvre de manière efficace et conforme à leurs procédures d’exploitation comme de maintenance;

Exploiter ou superviser l’exploitation des systèmes technologiques du site afin de garantir le bon déroulement des événements.
