Description

Job Summary:

The Barista is primarily responsible for taking orders, preparing beverages, and serving guests at Portside Coffee & Gelato. This position is also responsible for cleanliness and safety of coffee & gelato shop areas of the property.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• •Deliver an amazing guest experience with fast and friendly service when taking orders and processing payments.
• •Be knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the menu, with the ability to answer questions and make suggestions.
• •Prepare and serve beverages consistently adhering to all recipe standards.
• •Anticipate guests’ needs and exceed customer service expectations.
• •Protects establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation and safety policies.
• •Keep designated service stations clean and organized.
• •Restock and replenish bar inventory.
• •Concludes the guest experience by acknowledging choice of establishment and inviting patrons to return.
• •Ensure guests are enjoying their experience and take action to correct any problems.
• •Complete assigned sidework at the beginning, during, and at end of shift.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• •Friendly, energetic, detail-oriented team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment!
• •Coffee experience is a plus but not required. We offer on-the-job training.
• •A desire to help where needed and work as part of a team.
• •Ability to work positively and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
• •Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor the entire bar area and service wells.
• •Excellent communication skills.
• •Exceptional attention to detail.
• •Exhibit a professional appearance and mannerisms.
• •Flexibility to work a variety of shifts.
• •Must be able to stand, walk, reach, bend, stoop, and wipe for extended periods of time.
• •Must be able to carry trays and supplies (up to 25 lbs.).
• •Food Handler Certification.
