We are seeking a Business Development Representative to play a key role in the growth of Ruby Analytics, a healthcare analytics and solutions company within Gemstone Holdings designed to transform how organizations measure performance, uncover insights, and drive better outcomes. Originally developed within Blue Cross of Idaho, Ruby was built to address a core industry challenge: static, retrospective reporting that limits an organization’s ability to continuously track and improve performance. Ruby replaces this with continuous measurement, key insights and benchmarking, and predictive analytics—enabling health plans and partners to monitor affordability and manage their portfolio of programs in near real time, identify cost drivers, and make data-informed decisions that improve performance and reduce total cost of care.

As a Business Development Representative, you will drive business growth by identifying prospective clients, developing strategic relationships, and connecting organizations with the value of Ruby's product suite. You will serve as a key contributor in advancing opportunities through the sales pipeline while partnering with internal analytics, product, and leadership teams to position Ruby Analytics' unique capabilities in the marketplace.

We're looking for Business Development Representative with:

Experience: Three (3) years of experience in business development, sales, consulting, or related client-facing roles

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Sale, Finance, or related field; or equivalent work experience (Two years’ relevant work experience is equivalent to one-year college)

Other: Travel and/or attend off-site or client-facing meetings during and outside of standard working hours

What a day would look like:

  • Identifies and develops strategic business opportunities within targeted employer, payer, or partner segments.
  • Conducts research and account planning to understand organizational priorities, business challenges, and potential use cases for products and solutions.
  • Leads discovery conversations to identify client needs and translate complex analytics concepts into business value.
  • Builds a focused pipeline of strategic opportunities and maintains relationships with key stakeholders to support ongoing engagement.
  • Collaborates with internal teams to shape and position products and solutions aligned to client needs.
  • Develops and delivers sales proposals and presentations that clearly communicate products and features.
  • Advances opportunities through defined stages (e.g., discovery, proposal, finalist) in partnership with stakeholders.
  • Provides structured feedback to internal teams on market trends, client needs, and solution effectiveness.
  • Updates and accurately maintains CRM with documentation of activities, call notes, pipeline, future tasks, and other required information to support overall sales plan.
  • Supports development and refinement of go-to-market strategies, messaging, and value propositions.
  • Participates in industry and client-facing activities to build awareness and credibility in the market.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current base pay range is $73,321 - $102,650. The position is eligible for an annual sales incentive bonus (variable depending on company and employee performance).

The pay range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, travel requirements, internal equity, business or organizational needs, and alignment with market data. At Blue Cross of Idaho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for the position. Compensation decisions are dependent on factors and circumstances at the time of offer.

We offer a robust package of benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, community service and self-care days, medical/dental/vision/pharmacy insurance, 401(k) matching and non-contributory plan, life insurance, short and long term disability, education reimbursement, employee assistance plan (EAP), adoption assistance program and paid family leave program.

We will adhere to all relevant state and local laws concerning employee leave benefits, in line with our plans and policies.

Reasonable accommodations

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected class.
