What's the Role

The Driver Class A is responsible for the safe operation of company vehicles and the delivery of products to the customer locations. This includes maintaining the proper licensing to operate the required vehicles. Persons in this job must maintain a driving record in good standing and comply with all regulatory requirements for a commercial driver.

What You'll Own

• •Safely operate commercial classified vehicles.
• •Perform and record DOT and other governmental required inspections.
• •Complete paperwork as necessary and in a timely manner.
• •Load and unload truck as necessary to deliver product to customers.
• •Use of lift-trucks when necessary.
• •Interact with plant personnel and customer staff as necessary to perform delivery.

Requirements

What You Bring

• •High school diploma required.
• •Three years of commercial driving experience preferred.
• •Ability to read, comprehend, and follow simple instructions; bilingual skills preferred.
• •Ability to perform basic mathematical operations (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• •Ability to apply common-sense reasoning to carry out detailed but uncomplicated instructions.
• •Ability to read computer-generated reports preferred.
• •CA CDL-Class A certification with no restrictions.
• •Current DOT Medical Certification.
• •Less than 2 points on driving record

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this Job it is primarily sedentary while driving, but can require frequent standing, walking, lifting, twisting when working in a chilled factory or warehouse environment. Required to sit for periodic and prolonged periods while operating a truck. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear; and use hands to finger, handle, lift or feel. May be exposed periodically to chilled or warm temperatures within the operations or exposed to the elements when in an open dock environment.
