Work Shift: Full-Time 40 hrs. per week. M-F, Days, Nights, on call rotational and weekend coverage may be needed.

Work Location: University of Miami Hospital & Clinics - Cardio Lab UTower

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

• •Searches for abnormalities in blood flow sounds, heart rhythm, oxygen saturation, and the appearance of the heart.
• •Positions patients and explains procedures.
• •Performs quality control functions.
• •Evaluates ultrasounds for diagnostic quality.
• •Prepares and sets up medical supplies using aseptic techniques.
• •Develops ultrasound film and matches it with the appropriate paperwork for interpretation.
• •Assists with the maintenance and compilation of statistical data.
• •Provides training to new and student cardiac ultrasound technologists.
• •Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Associate degree in relevant field required

Certification and Licensing:

Refer to department description for applicable certification requirements

Experience:

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required
