Casual Opportunities

The Role

We're seeking passionate and reliable Dressers to join our Crown Live Theatre team on a casual basis.

Working behind the scenes across world-class productions and live entertainment events, you'll support performers with costume preparation, maintenance and quick changes, helping ensure every performance runs seamlessly. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Melbourne's premier entertainment destination and contribute to unforgettable guest experiences.

In this role, you will:

  • Assist performers with costume preparation, fittings, dressing and quick costume changes during rehearsals and performances.
  • Prepare, organise and maintain costumes to ensure they are performance-ready at all times.
  • Launder, steam, press and care for costumes in accordance with garment requirements.
  • Perform minor repairs, alterations and maintenance to costumes as required.
  • Maintain accurate costume plots, dressing notes and wardrobe records.
  • Set up, organise and maintain wardrobe, dressing room and backstage costume areas.
  • Work collaboratively with performers, wardrobe teams and production staff to ensure smooth show execution.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to costume issues and last-minute changes during live performances.

You'll bring:

  • Experience in dressmaking, costume, wardrobe or garment care.
  • Strong sewing, alteration and repair skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • The ability to remain calm and adaptable in a fast-paced live performance environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
  • Previous theatre, performing arts or live entertainment experience will be highly regarded.
  • Relevant qualifications in Fashion, Costume, Textiles or a related discipline are advantageous.
