We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Team Lead to provide technical leadership and coordinate a high-performing engineering team supporting projects across development, construction and operations.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, BOP Engineering, this position will lead a team of civil engineers responsible for delivering high-quality engineering outcomes across wind, solar and energy infrastructure projects. This position will provide technical direction, oversee engineering deliverables, manage team priorities and support the professional growth of the team while ensuring engineering excellence and safety remain at the forefront.

Job Description

  • Lead and develop a high-performing Civil Engineering team, providing technical leadership, coaching and mentorship while fostering a collaborative and safety-focused culture.
  • Oversee the delivery and review of civil engineering activities across project development, detailed design, procurement and construction phases.
  • Provide technical governance and assurance for engineering designs, studies, specifications and project deliverables, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and best practice.
  • Support project planning, CAPEX estimating, tender evaluations, value engineering and constructability reviews to optimise project outcomes.
  • Manage and coordinate engineering consultants, contractors and key stakeholders across multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Provide technical support during construction and operations, including design reviews, issue resolution, site inspections, defect investigations and asset improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the successful delivery and ongoing performance of renewable energy and infrastructure assets through effective engineering leadership and decision-making.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • A degree in Civil Engineering and eligibility for, or attainment of, Chartered and/or Registered Professional Engineer status (RPEQ/RPEV).
  • 10+ years' experience in civil engineering design, technical assurance or construction support within infrastructure, roads or energy projects.
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and managing external consultants and contractors.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering standards, design review processes and technical governance.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • Experience within renewable energy projects, project management qualifications, multinational environments and/or Spanish language skills will be highly regarded.
