Scope of Position

The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient?s involvement in his/her own plan of care and reducing the length of hospitalization, The clinic nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement , the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost effective care.

Position Summary

The Clinic Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Clinic Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.

• Minimum Qualifications
• Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program required. Current Ohio license or interim permit. *Experience in cardiac care setting preferred.

Additional Information:

The Cardiothoracic Ambulatory Care Center is an outpatient clinical practice within an academic medical center that provides comprehensive care for patients with complex cardiac and thoracic conditions. The unit supports pre- and post-operative visits, specialty clinics, and ongoing follow-up care. Nursing staff collaborate closely with cardiothoracic surgeons, advanced practice providers, residents, and multidisciplinary teams, serving a critical role in patient assessment, care coordination, education, and procedural support within a professional, team-based, and academically focused environment. Hours are Monday thru Friday, 8:00am-5:30pm.
