Description
Post Acute Analytics (PAA) is a healthcare technology company building the operating system for post-acute care. Millions of Americans transition each year out of the hospital into skilled nursing, home health, or back home, and those transitions too often fail them. Readmissions, medication errors, missed follow-ups, families left in the dark. Our clinical intelligence platform, Anna, gives providers, payers, and caregivers the visibility and workflow tools to get the right care to the right person at the right time. PAA combines deep clinical expertise, connected technology, and industry-leading datasets to help our partners deliver better outcomes, streamline care coordination, and improve the patient experience across the post-acute continuum. Today Anna operates across millions of covered lives, more than 40 states, and many of the industry’s most recognized payer and provider organizations. What distinguishes PAA is how we work. Clinical judgment leads. Technology amplifies clinician expertise rather than replacing it. Client trust is infrastructure, not a metric. Post-acute care is genuinely complex, and we build for that complexity honestly.
The Clinical Intelligence Quality Auditor (Contract) provides flexible clinical review capacity within PAA’s Clinical Intelligence Governance and Quality function. The role supports recurring audits, solution validation, backlog recovery, enhanced surveillance, remediation, and periods of increased demand. Reporting to the Associate Director, Clinical Intelligence Governance and Quality, the auditor completes assigned clinical reviews using approved methodology, documents findings consistently, participates in reviewer calibration, and escalates potential clinical risks through defined governance processes. This is an initial six-month contract engagement requiring approximately 20 hours per week. Depending on business needs, sustained workload, and individual performance, the engagement may be extended, or the contractor may be considered for a future full-time opportunity. A full-time position is not guaranteed.
Audit execution
Complete assigned clinical audits according to approved sampling, methodology, documentation, quality, and turnaround requirements.
Evaluate clinical indicators, document classifications, summaries, assessments, recommendations, and other assigned clinical intelligence outputs.
Assess whether outputs are accurate, complete, clinically supported, appropriately contextualized, and appropriate for the intended workflow.
Identify missing, conflicting, outdated, or unsupported information and escalate potential safety concerns through defined governance processes.
Document findings concisely using approved audit definitions, error taxonomy, and severity classifications.
Escalation and flexible coverage
Escalate potential patient-safety concerns, unsupported adverse outputs, recurring error patterns, and unclear standards promptly.
Support temporary increases in audit or surveillance activity associated with launches, remediation, client concerns, performance changes, or material solution updates.
Participate in clinical reviewer calibration and incorporate feedback into subsequent reviews.
Maintain confidentiality, reliability, and timely communication within the agreed work schedule.
Communicate workload constraints, case complexity, and potential delays early enough to support appropriate capacity planning.
Quality and consistency
Apply approved audit methodology consistently across assigned solutions and clinical domains.
Maintain clear, traceable documentation that supports quality review, trend reporting, and governance decisions.
Distinguish potential clinical intelligence performance issues from documentation, workflow, education, and data-availability concerns.
Participate in secondary review or quality checks when requested.
Contribute observations that may improve audit definitions, reviewer guidance, or escalation processes.
How you will partner
Execute assigned audits and provide objective clinical findings while governance leadership retains responsibility for methodology, risk thresholds, and portfolio-level decisions.
Escalate cases requiring additional clinical or governance judgment rather than making independent launch, pause, or remediation decisions.
Partner with the Senior Clinical Intelligence Quality Specialist and other reviewers to maintain consistent interpretation of audit definitions and severity classifications.
Provide findings that may support Product, Data Science, and Clinical Programs while those teams retain ownership of technical development, product delivery, workflow adoption, and client-program execution.
Maintain objectivity and document favorable and unfavorable findings consistently.
Requirements
Active and unrestricted clinical license as a registered nurse, occupational therapist, physical therapist, or another discipline relevant to the assigned clinical reviews. Registered nurse preferred based on the breadth of the current portfolio.
Three or more years of experience in post-acute care, utilization management, care management, clinical documentation review, clinical quality, or a related healthcare environment.
Strong medical-record review skills, post-acute clinical judgment, and the ability to apply structured audit guidance consistently.
Experience reviewing longitudinal medical records and synthesizing information across multiple clinical document types or care settings.
Ability to distinguish material clinical concerns from minor documentation variation and clearly explain potential downstream impact.
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, document concise findings, and escalate uncertainty or concerns appropriately. •Availability for approximately 20 hours per week during the initial six-month engagement.
Preferred qualifications
Experience with skilled nursing, Home Health, care transitions, prior authorization, continued stay, or level-of-care review.
Health plan, delegated utilization-management, clinical-criteria, or authorization-review experience.
Experience with clinical abstraction, informatics, clinical decision-support validation, healthcare quality assurance, or performance monitoring.
Experience evaluating clinical intelligence, AI-enabled healthcare tools, NLP-generated content, predictive analytics, or other technology-supported clinical outputs.
Experience working with healthcare technology, Product, Data Science, or clinical informatics teams.
Familiarity with performance measures such as agreement, sensitivity, specificity, false-positive and false-negative patterns, and error severity.
Engagement terms
This opportunity is structured as an initial six-month contract engagement with an anticipated commitment of approximately 20 hours per week at a budgeted rate of $55 per hour. The specific schedule, scope, and other engagement terms will be outlined in the applicable agreement. The engagement may be extended, expanded, reduced, or concluded based on business needs, measured workload, performance, and the terms of the agreement. Strong performers may be considered for future full-time opportunities when organizational needs and approved positions align, but conversion is not guaranteed.
Our commitment to equal opportunity
Post Acute Analytics is committed to fair and inclusive contracting. We evaluate contractors on qualifications, availability, and demonstrated capability, and do not consider protected characteristics in engagement decisions. Reasonable accommodations are available during the selection and engagement process. HR and Legal will confirm classification, market rate, and engagement terms prior to execution.
