Co-op opportunity available for the Summer of 2027 with the AES Indiana Substation Engineering team. This position will provide the Intern with engineering experience as it relates to substation design and system protection.

The Substation Engineering Interns will work as a team along with staff engineers to facilitate substation engineering analysis and design work related to system protection and substation infrastructure. The substation Engineering department is tasked with the design of substation facilities and relay protection of all equipment on AES Indiana transmission and distribution systems. Substation Interns will be assigned project work designed to offer valuable engineering experience, and to assist staff engineers with their substation projects.

Qualifications

The successful candidate should be a student pursuing a four-year degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology. An academic standing of Sophomore status or higher is preferred. Additional consideration will be given to candidates with a strong academic background, exceptional attention to detail, and organization and presentation skills. A proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office programs - especially Excel and Word - also is preferred.
