This position is for Undergraduate and Graduate Students
Co-op Cycle: January 4th to June 25th, 2027
Schedule: Monday- Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm
Location: Beverly, MA (Onsite)

We are searching for our next group of engineering co-ops for a 6-month assignment at our Beverly, MA, facility. Our co‑op program is designed to develop early‑career talent and build a strong pipeline of future engineers . Students gain hands-on exposure , work on real projects , and make meaningful contributions . Throughout the program, co‑ops build technical skills , strengthen problem‑solving abilities , and gain real‑world experience that enhances both their academic learning and future career opportunities.
About the Role
Axcelis is seeking a Manufacturing Software Engineering Co-op to support our Operations Technology team in business system integration, custom applications, and operational analysis and optimization. This role offers hands-on experience at the intersection of manufacturing, technology, and data-driven decision-making.
The ideal candidate is an engineering student with software experience who is eager to apply their skills in a manufacturing and operations-focused environment.
What You’ll Do
- Assist in developing and maintaining ERP integrations with manufacturing systems.
- Support the development of custom applications to streamline operations.
- Analyze operational data and contribute to process optimization initiatives.
- Work closely with engineering, production, and IT teams to solve real-world manufacturing challenges.
- Document findings and provide recommendations for efficiency improvements.
What We’re Looking For
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with database setup and integration (MSSQL).
- Interest in manufacturing operations, process improvement, and technology integration.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Python and JavaScript Node for application development and deployment.
- Experience with C#, .NET
- Experience with databases (SQL)
- Familiarity with REST APIs and ERP systems.
- Understanding of data visualization and analysis techniques.

Commute Information:
To support students commuting to our facility, Axcelis provides a $1,000 travel stipend , paid as a lump‑sum in the first paycheck . Our headquarters in Beverly, MA , is located directly off Route 128 and just 10 minutes from the Beverly Train Station for those using public transportation. Transportation between the Beverly station and the facility is available through the Salem Skipper rideshare service. U.S. BASE SALARY RANGE
$20.42 - $35.70
This base salary range reflects the typical compensation for this role across U.S. locations.
Our salary ranges are determined by role and level; individual pay is determined based on
multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, work
location, and internal equity. The range provides the opportunity for growth and progression as
you develop within the role.
Base pay is one part of our U.S. total compensation package which includes eligibility in the
Axcelis Team Incentive bonus plan, and comprehensive benefits package (for regular
employees working 20+ hours a week).
