College Intern - Process and Digitalization
Description -
What a College Intern - Process and Digitalization does at HP:
- Design and develop practical solutions for high-volume manufacturing using AI, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), smart vision systems, robotics, and other automation technologies.
- Gain hands-on exposure to high-speed, high-precision equipment, including die attach machines, wire bonders, chip attach systems, precision over-mould tooling, and other advanced semiconductor packaging equipment.
- Apply mechanical, mechatronic, and automation engineering principles to improve equipment performance, process capability, quality, and productivity.
- Contribute to real engineering projects spanning production improvement, sustainability, and New Product Introduction (NPI).
- Work alongside engineering and operations professionals to create smart factory solutions that strengthen manufacturing quality and future-readiness.
- Use structured problem-solving, experimentation, data analysis, and engineering studies to develop and validate improved manufacturing processes.
Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Can commit to a 5-6 months full-time internship beginning in January 2027.
- Enjoy turning engineering ideas into working solutions and are eager to learn in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
- Communicate clearly, collaborate effectively, and are comfortable taking ownership of individual assignments.
- Bring practical, creative thinking to modernise manufacturing operations through smart technology.
- Have knowledge or project experience in one or more of the following: automation, robotics, machine vision, AI, machine learning, IIoT, data analytics, digitalisation, or software programming.
- Experience with Power BI, Power Automate, Robotic Process Automation, or similar digital tools is an advantage—but curiosity and a willingness to learn matter just as much.
